RedStone (RED) Project Analysis

Research Institute Review

RedStone is a modular blockchain oracle, similar to Chainlink and Pyth Network, but stands out with its unique advantage of modular design. RedStone is also the fastest-growing oracle. Top-tier projects with recent high exposure such as Story Protocol, Babylon, StakeStone, and SonicLabs all use RedStone as their oracle solution.

Recent Development

Previously, RedStone became well-known among the public due to high airdrop expectations before its TGE. RedStone is about to launch on Binance Launchpool for mining activities. Currently, community enthusiasm is high, with many airdrop hunters participating.

Project Introduction

RedStone is a modular oracle platform designed to provide fast, accurate, and cost-effective data feeds for decentralized applications (dApps). Unlike traditional oracles that push data to the blockchain at fixed intervals, RedStone uses an on-demand data retrieval approach, storing cryptographically signed data off-chain and delivering it to smart contracts only when needed. This approach improves efficiency and significantly reduces costs for dApps. RedStone's modular architecture allows for easy integration of new assets and reduced latency, enabling dApps to scale more effectively.

Token Utility

RED will serve as a utility token, allowing holders to stake and delegate to data providers for a share of fees and rewards.

RED will also allow for restaking versions, enabling its LRT to be used in any DeFi protocol to unlock additional economic value (similar to stETH).

Tokenomics

RedStone's total token supply is 1,000,000,000 RED, with the following distribution:

Category Allocation Vesting and Unlock Details
Protocol Development 10% Partially locked, strategically deployed by RedStone Distributed Data Association to drive protocol growth and advance progressive decentralization
Community & Genesis 10% Rewards for early supporters, partners, and active participants in RedStone's development
Core Contributors 20.00% Locked, recognizing those who laid the foundation and will continue driving long-term development
Ecosystem & Data Providers 28.3% Partially locked, provided significant financial, advisory, and strategic support during RedStone's development
Early Supporters 31.7% Locked, provided significant financial, advisory, and strategic support during RedStone's development

Project Highlights

Investment Institutions

RedStone has raised $22 million in total funding, led by Arrington Capital with participation from Coinbase. Investors include Aave founder Stani Kulechov, Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal, zkSync co-founder Alex Gluchovski, Avalanche co-founder Emin Gun Sirer, and others.

Future Outlook

RedStone is live on over 60 chains and can be easily deployed on any EVM and many non-EVM chains, while Chainlink primarily focuses on the ETH ecosystem. RedStone's market share is growing increasingly larger. In 2024, with $3.8 billion TVS and over 100 partners, RedStone has become the second-largest oracle provider in the field, with excellent project prospects. Previously, RedStone reached an agreement with Ether.fi, the largest Restaking service on EigenLayer, securing $500 million in funding to help bring its data oracle to the ecosystem.
