About Funding Rates
Funding rates help align perpetual contract prices with the spot price of the underlying asset. Fees are transferred directly between traders, with CoinW solely facilitating the process between long and short position holders.
Rate Direction: A positive rate requires longs to pay shorts; a negative rate requires shorts to pay longs. Fees are calculated based on position notional value and the funding rate.
Rate Volatility: Rates are typically lower in low-volatility markets and may reach limit levels only during high volatility.
Extreme Risk Notice: In extreme market conditions, funding rates may exceed the maintenance margin ratio. As funding fees are directly deducted from user margin, we strongly advise monitoring positions and available margin closely to avoid liquidation.
Settlement Times: Settled every 8 hours (08:00, 16:00, and 00:00 UTC+8).
